Terms and conditions

2.0 – Terms and conditions

2.1 Agreed regular lessons

You will agree with your driving instructor how frequently you want your driving lessons, i.e. weekly, fortnightly, occasionally, etc. This agreement enables your driving instructor to plan their diary and ensure that they don’t take on too many pupils, which would ultimately result in not being able to offer regular lessons to all their pupils.

You can change this agreement at any time, but please try to give your driving instructor at least 14 days notice.

‘Occasional lessons’ – see 2.8 below.

2.2 Re-scheduling lessons

‘Re-scheduled lessons’ must be taken in the same ‘Working week’ (Monday to Sunday), otherwise it will be a cancelled lesson / missed week. This will affect the ‘Agreed regular lessons’ (see 2.1 above).

If you want to re-schedule a lesson please give your driving instructor as much notice as possible, and your instructor will do their best to accommodate you.

2.3 Notice periods – to cancel a lesson, or to miss/not book an ‘Agreed regular lesson’

Your driving instructor needs to plan their diary at least 2 weeks in advance. Please be considerate to your driving instructor when cancelling lessons, making changes to/or missing your ‘Agreed regular lessons’, and give at least 14 days notice if possible:

  • 14 days notice – may be able to backfill lesson;
  • 7 days notice – unlikely will be able to backfill lesson;
  • 48 hours or less notice – almost impossible to backfill lesson (please read ‘Lesson cancellation policy‘).

If notice is given to cancel a lesson, or to miss/not book an ‘Agreed regular lesson’, your instructor may be able to backfill that lesson by either:

  • Taking on a new pupil – however this could result in your driving instructor being too busy and not being able to offer regular lessons to all their pupils. If this occurs your driving instructor will prioritise lessons to those pupils who keep their ‘Agreed regular lessons’; or
  • Offering an extra lesson to existing pupils – however it is rare that pupils want an extra lesson, and even less likely that they have availability for that specific day/time slot. This can create a lot of extra admin work for your driving instructor, so if this occurs regularly your driving instructor may ask you to pay an admin fee.
2.4 Working week

Your driving instructor’s ‘working week’ is Monday to Sunday.

2.5 Booking lessons

Please book lessons at least 14 days in advance to ensure availability and avoid disappointment.

2.6 Payments

Payments are accepted by cash only. Payments must be made in advance of the lesson (before or at the start of the lesson).

(Please also refer to ‘Lesson cancellation policy’ – 1.7)

2.7 One hour lesson availability

One hour lessons are only available subject to location (i.e. travel distance / time to pick up and drop off pupil). Your driving instructor will confirm if you can be offered one hour lessons. – not currently available.

2.8 Occasional lessons

‘Occasional lessons’ are more suitable for pupils who are unable to commit to regular lessons, and a great solution to avoiding cancelled/missed lessons. This is a valuable option that can work very well for both you and your instructor. It can be a permanent or temporary arrangement.

‘Occasional lessons’ are offered by the driving instructor at shorter notice (from 2 hours to 2 weeks) when they have unexpected availability.

48 hour cancellation policy still applies.
